Our vulnerability lies between the realm of ambiguity and rationality; the in-betweenness is where we can address our fear and is where the innate “art” everyone is born with exists. Here I disregard the practice of conventional art and enjoy my pure creation and here I venture my deepest fear and trauma. I recollect feeble and oblique pieces of my darkest memory and give my unconsciousness a shape and colours. The choice of vivid colour palettes and simple child-like drawing whimsically filling the canvas in contrast to the dark topic is my will to overcome my fear. Not a single person’s life story is the same, and every painting is personal and unique. There is intangible spiritual language in an image—The way we lean in during an intimate moment, steeping ourselves into a work of art. The physical process of painting informs the visual vocabulary of the painting itself.
